Planes, Trains, & Automobiles

Oscar nominations came out yesterday... I really can't say that I have seen many of the movies. They just aren't interesting to me. Scorcese and Eastwood just aren't doing it for me. They don't make them like they used to. On that note I would like to pay tribute to John Hughes, the great director of movies like the Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. What happened to him? The world could use a John Hughes movie.

Here is a great scene from a great Hughes movie.... Planes, Trains, & Automobiles (1987) : the real article.

Carl’s Jr….communist?

Has anyone ever noticed how the fast food chain Carl’s Jr. shares the yellow and red colors of a certain flag and also uses a yellow star as their mascot ? The hamburger hot spot also shares the name with another very famous Karl. Is it just coincidence or is there something more? Let’s just hope that we aren’t all blacklisted one day for buying cheeseburgers.
